Turn a Simple Shape Into a Character With a Story
🗓️ Wednesday, July 29th
🕰️ 8 PM New York time
Hi! My name is Maura, and I'm an illustrator, animator, and author, and I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember. I’m constantly inspired by the small details people often miss: a gesture, a glance, the way light hits a room… the tiny things that make a moment feel real.
I'd like to invite you to a beginner-friendly, follow-along workshop where we will start with one simple shape and transform it into a character with personality, movement, and a small story behind them.
🌟 I also have a special gift for you, so stay until the end.
(If you can't attend on this date, you can still register, and I will send you an email with the replay of the session)
🔒 By providing your information, you agree to the collection and use of your information in accordance with our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
IN THIS WORKSHOP, YOU WILL LEARN TO:
✅Find the character hiding inside the shape.
Before worrying about anatomy or perfect drawing skills, you will learn how simple circles, rectangles, triangles, and silhouettes can already suggest personality, energy, and attitude.
✅Make the character feel alive through visual language.
I will show how proportion, posture, expression, and exaggeration can instantly communicate who a character is, whether they feel shy, bold, tired, mysterious, chaotic, elegant, or dramatic.
✅Add one detail that makes people curious
You will learn how a small prop, gesture, clothing detail, expression, or visual clue can turn a simple character sketch into the beginning of a story.

Hi, I'm Maura (Momo)!
I’m an illustrator, animator, and author, and I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember. I’m constantly inspired by the small details people often miss: a gesture, a glance, the way light hits a room… the tiny things that make a moment feel real.
Right now, I’m balancing my BFA studies in Studio Art with sharing my work with a community of 300,000+ on Instagram. I’m also the creator of the ongoing Webtoon series Miraculous Ladybug: A Fan Rewrite, where I get to experiment with storytelling every single day, building emotion, mood, pacing, and scenes that read clearly and feel alive.
My biggest passion is creating immersive, imaginative worlds, and in this free workshop, I’m breaking down the exact process I use so you can bring your own stories to life through your art.
